Sustainable livelihoods improvement

In order to bridge the income gap among the infected and affected individuals and families, we provide credit to women through a savings and credit scheme which enables them to generate income and save. We have trained guardians and caretakers of orphans and vulnerable children in mushroom growing.

The mushroom are sold to generate income and the rest are consumed by families. We also provide seeds and planting materials to start the beneficiaries off and we support them in improving their businesses and market for their produce through training in market research and business management.

These skills help them operate profitable ventures. Out of this initiative, our members are able to earn income with which they can meet immediate household needs. The also contain high nutritional values that contribute to improved health of these families.

The rate of falling sick is fundamentally reduced and the would-be-sick children are able to stay in school.
